With the Redmi Pad and Xiaomi Pad, Xiaomi offers a lot of screen and battery for your money. Here you'll find deals on the current model lines compared.
Redmi Pad or Xiaomi Pad?
The Redmi Pad series is Xiaomi's budget-conscious line: large displays with near-2K resolution, higher refresh rates and big batteries. The Redmi Pad Pro adds a larger display and a more powerful chip. The Xiaomi Pad series is the higher-end line with faster Snapdragon processors, very high-resolution displays and refresh rates of up to 144 Hz – interesting for gaming, drawing with a pen and productive work with a keyboard cover.
Both lines run HyperOS, Xiaomi's Android interface, and have access to the Google Play Store.
What to look for in Xiaomi tablets
Storage in the title is often given as “8+256 GB”: the first number is the RAM, the second the internal storage. For smooth multitasking, 6 to 8 GB of RAM makes sense. Also check whether it's the global or EU version – only then is German properly pre-installed and warranty handling straightforward.
With listings from marketplace sellers, it's worth checking where they're based and what warranty they offer. Imported stock can be cheaper, but warranty claims get more complicated.
- Refresh rate: 90 to 144 Hz gives smooth scrolling.
- Battery: large capacities, often with fast charging.
- Pen and keyboard are optional accessories – buy them for your exact model.
Who Xiaomi is worth it for
If you're looking for an Android tablet with a large, smooth display and don't want to pay the price of a premium Samsung, Xiaomi is a strong alternative. For kids and pure streaming, a Redmi Pad is enough; for creatives and heavy users, the Xiaomi Pad is worth a look.
Accessories and updates
Many Xiaomi tablets have matching keyboard covers and pens available as accessories, but these are model-specific. Xiaomi regularly delivers software and security updates for its tablets; exactly how long depends on the model. For newly launched models, the EU's minimum update requirements have also applied since June 2025. If a long service life is important to you, go for the current generation rather than an end-of-line model.
The comparison only shows new stock, because import offers and dealer versions vary a lot, especially with Xiaomi. Look for “Global Version” or “EU version” in the listing.
